What to pay attention to when lamb breastfeeding?
① Timing. Arrange breastfeeding time reasonably. Lambs within 1 month of age are fed once every 3 hours; at 1 to 2 months of age, they are fed 4 times a day; at 2 to 3 months of age, they are fed 3 times a day; after 3 months of age, they are fed 1 to 2 times a day. As the age of the month increases, gradually reduce the number of feedings and appropriately increase the amount of each feeding.
②Quantitative. The amount of feeding is the premise to meet the nutritional needs of the lamb. Too much feeding can cause indigestion and even diarrhea; too little can cause insufficient nutrition and affect the growth and development of lambs. In the initial stage, each lamb is fed about 250 grams each time, which can be increased or decreased according to the individual, the amount of exercise and the age. Generally speaking, the amount of breastfeeding per day and night is not less than 16% of body weight.
③ Constant temperature. The milk temperature of artificial breastfeeding should be close to or slightly higher than the body temperature of dry ewe, that is, 38℃~42℃ is better.
