High-efficiency goat breeding management method
1. Build a house
Sheep sheds should be selected in the center with high dry terrain and sunny leeward, with a feeding area of 10-20m2 in front of the sheds, with fixed feeding troughs and drinking utensils. There must be a drainage ditch outside the house, and a bamboo mat or concrete floor must be laid inside the house. In summer, plastic film sheds should be used in severe cold areas, which can move forward to the sheep house with a temperature of 4°C to 7°C, which is conducive to the growth of sheep. It is necessary to rotate and choose different types of disinfectants, such as 20% lime milk, 10% bleaching powder solution, etc., to stop the disinfection of sheep houses, sports grounds, feeding troughs, drinking vessels, feeding stuffs and pens.
2. Housekeeping
Sheep breeding should be based on factory consumption methods. Sheep of different ages, breeds, and body conditions should be housed separately, and special delivery rooms and lamb sheds, mutton sheds, ewe sheds, ram sheds, and sick sheep shelters should be established. , And matched with the corresponding management methods of breeding.
3. Seed selection
According to local conditions, select excellent varieties with large body, fast growth, high reproduction rate, strong adaptability, good meat quality and high benefit. The first selection of male parent is South African Boer goat, followed by horse head goat in my country; the main female parent is Laoshan dairy goat, Wendeng dairy goat, and Lubei white goat again.
4. Mating
Exchanging breeding rams from other places, earmarking the breeding rams and ewes and compiling breeding files, specifically recording the number of breeding sheep, breeding time, breeding methods and lambing conditions, and systematically controlling males and ewes This cross, avoid the breed concessions caused by the distant breeding of sheep.
5. Scale
The scale of raising sheep should be appropriate, which can be selected based on the amount of plowing the family has, the amount of forage, labor, and the amount of funds invested. Generally, it is advisable to raise about 20 ewes that can breed, and the annual expenditure can reach 10,000 yuan. Because the family may not be able to spend so much money for a while, don't be greedy for planning when you are just raising them, you should explore and summarize the breeding experience from time to time, and adopt the method of snowballing.
6. Density
Sheep is a ruminant plant, and it takes a long time in the day to eat forage and ruminate. Therefore, there must be a satisfactory slot and activity space in the sheep pen, and each sheep should have an activity area of 1.5 to 2.5 m2.
7. Feed
Sheep are livestock that mainly eat coarse materials and supplemented by concentrated materials. The best plan for feeding is to "plant grass and raise sheep" so that you can eat fresh grass throughout the year. Sheep farmers should open up green and green fodder public land to artificially cultivate pastures such as alfalfa and ryegrass. In addition to feeding grass in summer and autumn, the grass can also be sun-dried or made into silage to feed sheep after the spring is harvested. It can also be cultivated to stop silage of corn and feed sheep all year round. When preparing concentrated feed, in addition to a certain amount of corn, protein feed such as soybean meal, bran, fish meal, and bone meal must also be prepared in proportion. In addition, if it participates in excessive rumen metabolism scheduling agent, urea slow-release agent and other compound feed additives, the benefits will be better. Feed fermentation greatly improves the nutritional value of feed. The total amount of 18 amino acids is clearly increased, and the fluctuation of different nutrients is between 10-28%, so that the palatability, nutrient content and digestibility of the plant can meet the requirements of plant feed. , It has an important effect on expanding the origin of feed and saving feed cost.
8. Drinking water
Management of sheep raising must have clean drinking water for the sheep to drink.
9, disease prevention
Goats raised in groups are prone to disease, and the secondary ones are lamb dysentery, streptococcal disease, infectious pustules, nematodes, and goat lice. To implement the policy of "prevention is more important than cure", we should also do a good job in inoculation of key diseases and summarize the mission of prevention and treatment.
10. Management
Management and raising sheep should settle down and breed and raise them in a reasonable group. If grazing, it is necessary to divide the area to graze in rotation. And pay attention to handling tasks such as scrubbing and hoof repair.
11. Castration
Lambs used for fattening should preferably be castrated within 7 to 21 days after birth. Castration at this moment is conducive to improving the quality of the meat, making it docile, easy to handle, and fast fattening.
